Alexandre Nigg

My name is Alexandre Nigg.

I have 20 years of experience in teaching electric and acoustic guitar and electric bass.

In the early 2000’s, I continued my training in several schools in the Lake Geneva region, including the EJMA in Lausanne.

For the past 20 years, I have also played in many rock, metal and fusion bands.

Lessons are available to people wishing to learn electric guitar, accoustic guitar (classic or folk), electric bass or accoustic bass.

4-string, 5-string and 6-string bass can be taught as well as fretless.
The different areas can be approached freely during the course according to the student’s needs.
All levels are admitted, from beginner to advanced level. No knowledge of music theory will be required.

Lessons are available from 7 years old. The initial contact and the courses are available in French and English.

Lessons content
Available fields:
  1. Study of rock, blues, metal, jazz, funk, pop, folk songs etc…all styles can be studied.
  2. Guitar or bass techniques (technical exercises, position corrections, learning new techniques).
  3. Music Theory
  4. Composition/Improvisation
Technique and skills

Left hand: Extensions, bar chords, virbrato, bendings, slides, Legato (Hammer, Pull off).
Right hand: Finger picking, Slap (Thumbing and plucking), Sweeping, Tapping, Arpeggios, Synchronization.

Music Theory

F clef, G clef, symbols and signs, rythmic signatures, tablatures and paritions reading.
The music theory part is generally accompanied by theoretical exercises and pieces to read.

Composition and Improvisation

Major and minor scales, synthetic scales, diatonic harmony, modal or tonal system etc…Harmony, reversals, figurations, arpeggios…
Grids reading, harmonic analysis, reharmonization, polytonality, voicing, intermodal exchanges.
